During this time the great depression was going on so many businesses suffered. The 1930s are also considered the golden era because around 85 million people a week came to see film. Also two movies that are well know still is Frankenstein and The wizard of oz. -

during this time a rise in patriotic films was happening. Women also started appear in films more. this is when women films was in its peek. -

During the 1950s tv broadcasting starting becoming popular. they also had color tv finally become successful. The amount of people coming to theatre completely was cut in half. -
Independent film
During this time major studios started putting money into independent films. An actor/director named John cassavetes was really well know and is also called the father of independent film. He popularized a new market helping film makers -
slum
The beginning of this time Hollywood was in a financial slum. This is when young film makers are starting to take more risk. A movie called Summer costed 1 million to make and it brought in 25 million. -
science
During this era sci fi was very popular and trended. comedies and other genres were very popular. The PG 13 rating was also introduced to u.s during this time. -
tv and movie
At this time they had started making movies for not only theaters but for tv. Thanks to this it doubled their profit on movies. This time also had an increase of independent studios and film makers. -
computers
At this time studios were starting to use computes more for production. Popularity in 3d films also increased as well as musical films. CGI also became widely used and popular.
