    The Phenakistiscope
    In 1829, a man by the name of Joseph Antoine Ferdinand Plateau had an idea of an animation device that makes illusions of moving images, but it was only thought of at the time. It was planned in 1849, and was then invented in 1841.

    The Kinetoscope
    Invented by Eadweard Muybridge and Thomas Edison in 1889, the kinetoscope was an animation device where you could view films. But the disadvantage was that the films could only be viewed by one person at a time. It wasn't so much as a movie prjector, but it was more a standard cinematic projection.

    In 1894, Louis Lemiere and his brother Augeste Lemiere, created a portable, motion picture camera. Better than the kinetoscope, the device had improved images and illumination. The device then became famous worldwide.

    Filmed by Edwin S. Porter, The Great Train Robbery was a film featuring a train racing towards the camera. This film caused many injuries to the audience. Since the audience havn't seen anything like that before, they actually thought the train was coming at them.

    Mary Pickford created the 'Mary Pickford Film Corporation' in Hollywood. Creating it, she then became the first ever movie star to own a film company. She was then known as 'America's Sweetheart'.

    In the mid 1930's, telivision was invented. A small screen where you could view films. Even though this was a good thing, this declared war over film production.

    In 1950, Holly converts to color film. This gave many new ideas of movies and drive-in becomes a popular place ot view movies. This all resulted in increasing production.

    3D Movies
    In 1952, Hollywood starts producing 3D films to compete with telivision. This introduced many Cinerama processes such as 'Limelight' and 'High Noon'. The movies were the first ever 3D movies to be released in America.
