1925- Future Farmers Of Virginia
Henry Groseclose, Harry Sanders, Walter S. Newman and Edmund C. Magill created the Future Farmers of Virginia for boys in ag classes -
1926- The First National Congress of Vocational Agriculture Students
The Ag students came together for their first ever livestock judging contest which was held in Kansas City. -
1928- FFA is established in Kansas City MO.
Leslie Applegate from New Jersey is elected first national FFA president. First sectional gathering of New Farmers of America members is held. -
1929- FFA colors are picked
The colors they picked were National blue and corn gold. -
1933- The famous FFA jacket was established as official dress.
The jacket is a blue corduroy jacket that everyone in FFA gets and is required to wear for certain things. -
1935- New Farmers of America founded in Tuskegee, Ala.
Active FFA members reached 100,000 members also. -
1944 - FFA Members Join in the War Effort
The FFA foundation raised money from several organizations to help support the FFA foundation -
1950- President Harry S. Truman signed the bill
A bill was passed that granted FFA a federal charter and specified that a U.S. Department of Education staff member be the national FFA advisor. -
1952- First issue of The National Future Farmer magazine published.

The U.S. post office created a stamp for the FFA 25th anniversary -
1965- New farmers of America merges with FFA
NFA merges with FFA which increases the over all member amount to 50,000. Memberships increase from 10 cents to 50 cents. -
1969- The washington conference begins
FFA opens membership to females, making it possible for them to hold office and participate in competitive events at regional and national levels. -
1971- The National FFA Alumni Association is established.

1988- President Ronald Reagan speaks at FFA convention
to reflect the growing diversity in agriculture they changed their name from Future Farmers Of America (FFA) to the national FFA organization. -
