Virginia was the first state to have Futures Farmers club for boys. -
FFA
FFA became a National organization. A network of teaches guided the establishment of FFA as a team effort to establish a club for boys with similar farm interests. -
NFA
Was formed (New Farmers of America) for black students in the south. -
FFA became
one of a few student organizations to receive a Federal Charter form congress (Public Law 740). -
Merging
FFA and NFA merged. -
Girls
Girls were allowed in FFA for the first time. -
Name change
Name change from Future Farmers of America to National FFA organization to reflect the growing diversity in the agriculture industry. -
National Convention
completes 7 year run in Indianapolis and returns to Louisville, Kentucky in 2013 for 3 years.
