  • 1930

    Creed adopted by E.M. Tiffany.
    Delegates restrict membership to boys only.
    1st FFA manual was printed with a grant from the Farm Journal Press.
  • 1933

    Blue corduroy jacket was adopted.
  • 1935

    New Farmers of America established - organization of African American young men.
    FFA membership exceeded the membership of 100,000 members.
  • 1939

    1st FFA owned national headquarters land was purchased.
  • 1944

    Foundation formed in Washington.
    138,548 FFA members served in World War II.
  • 1947

    FFA week established during George Washington's birthday.
  • 1948

    1st national FFA chorus was performed.
  • 1950

    President Harry Truman granted a Federal Charter to FFA.
  • 1952

    Code of ethics was adopted.
  • 1959

    1st national leadership training conference was held.
  • 1965

    New Farmers merges with the FFA.
  • 1969

    Opens membership to girls.
