Virginia was the first state to have Futures Farmers Clubs for boys. -
National Organization
In 1928, FFA became national organization. A network of teachers guided establishment of FFAas a team effort to establish a club for boys with similiar farm interests. -
NFA
NFA (New Farmers of America) was formed for black students in the south. -
Fedeal Charter
FFA recieved a federal charter from congress (public law 740) -
NFA with FFA
NFA and FFa merged. -
Girls allowed
Girls are allowed in FFA for the first time. -
Name change
Name changed form future farmers of America to the National FFA organization to reflect the growing diversity in the agriculture industry. -
National Convention
Nationla convention completes 7 year run in Indianapolis and returns to Loisville, Kentucky in 2013 for 3 years.
