FFA became a National organization. A network of teachers guided the establishment of FFA as a team effort to establish a club for boys with similar farm interests -

NFA was formed (New Farmers of America) for black students -
1950
FFA became one of the few student organizations to receive federal charter on Congress ( Public Law 740 ) -

FFA and NFA merged -

Girls were allowed to join FFA for the first time -

Changed the name from Future Farmers of America to National FFA Organization to reflect on the growth -
2012
National convention completes 7 year run in Indy and returns to Louisville, Kentucky in 2013 for 3 years.
