Colonial gathering
On the 24th of October, 1889, Sir Henry Parkes called a gathering between all colonies to discus forming a federal government for Australia. -
federal conference
Sir Henry Parkes convinced all the other premiers of the Australian colonies to discuss federating Australia. -
constitutional convention
7 representives from each colony in Australia came together and started working on an Australian constitution. -
1893 3 step proposal for federal constitution
A 3 step proposal was offered to the colonies to achieve a federal constitution. -
Sir Henry Parkes passes away (1815-1896)
Sir Henry Parkes unfortunately passes away and hands down his work to Sir Edmund Barton (1815-1896) -
second constitutional convention
Committees debate each paragraph of the draft constitution, changes were made and a new constitution was drafted. each state had the same number of senators. -
First referendum
All colonies except NSW chose to federate so NSW chose to discuss the concerns of not federating. -

Everyone in Australia decided to federate as one nation. -
Federation of Australia
Australia is declered a united and federated country and is one full independent nation. -

Aboriginals were allowd to vote in SA for the first time ever. -
Australian flag was established
The Australian flag was first established and it was flown in melbourne. -

Women gained rights and were allowed to vote. -

Australia joined WW1 to protect our country and since we are allies with Britian we helped defend them too. -

The first ANZAC day was held. -
WW1 ended
WW1 came to an end. 60,000 Australians sadly passed away fighting for our country. -
