1900-1950
fashion In the early a1900's the Victorian era drew to a close. Hobble and lampshape skirt came and went, followed by dropping the waist line to hip high levels and dresses became unfitted and hemlines perched above the ankle. Later came longer hemlines and the waist line returned to it's natural position. Soon slim pencil skirts were worn too. -
1960-1990
fashionShort-jacketed sheath suits became popular. Pant suits became day wear for working woman and skirts came in all lengths. One word comes to mind when you think of the 1980s: BIG. Shoulder pads returned to fashion in a super-sized version, and the “power suit”.
