during this time period most of the fashions were inspired by the war. most clothing items had less fabric because there was a reduction in raw materials in manufaturing things other than war related things, -

fashions of the 50s were also conservative but the hems were picked up just a little bit. most young people just wanted to start families because the war had opened their eyes, most fashions were inspired by jackie kennedy and toned down natural colors were also in style.
