Before farming, hunter-gatherers would have to move if their supplies ran out, so they started settling on land and grew crops and raised animals on nearby land. -

Domestication
Between 8000 and 3000 BC, people learned how to domesticate. The first animals that were domesticated are dogs, then gazelles, sheep, and goats. They would look over them and kill the ones that were the weakest and taking the best ones and breed them for meat and milk. -
Third Agricultural Revolution
There was a increase in agricultural production, especially in the developing world and its also known as the Green Revolution. -
Fertilizer and Yields
In 1940, 2,4-D and they had dozens of herbicides. Commercial fertilizer helped farmers increase yields. They saw reduced-till and no-till equipment. -
Crop Genetics and Pest Management
Plant breeders have worked to improve germplasm to develop seeds and mix the best characteristics to get the best yield for specific soil and some weather conditions.
