At the time Roosevelt used this farm bill to help americans cope with the Great Depression. This bill took into account that the land was our most precious resource and the economic incentive for any single farm family.

    Farm Bill 1973- Agriculture and Consumer Protection Act
    The farm bill act of 1973 was a 4 year farm bill that adopted target prices and deficiency payments as tools to support farm income. This bill was the first omnibus farm bill due to it being a simple authorizing farm commodity program. This bill also authorized disaster payments and disaster reserve inventories. This bill contained key changes to farm policy that made the most substantial revision to the programs .

    Food Conservation and Energy act- Farm bill 2008
    This bill included around $100 billion in annual spending for the agriculture programs, and around 80% of that money went towards food stamps and nutritional programs. However this bill also covered livestock production, trade and food aide, commodity crops, and farm credit.
