Early Life
Johnny Depp was the youngest of 4 children. In a later interview Depp admits that he was the "oddball" of the bunch. His family moved often because of his father's job and once they moved to Florida, Depp was 7 years old. Johnny hated his new home, living in a motel for over a year until his father landed a new job. By 12 Depp had begun smoking and experimenting different drugs. When he was 15 his parents got divorced, ultimately causing Depp and his father to lose touch. -

A year later Johnny dropped out of highschool and joined a garage band called "The Kids." -
Gets Married & Moves
At age 20, Depp met and married 25- year - old makeup artist Lori Allison. They moved to L.A together with Depp's band, hoping to gain popularity. They did not have luck, so they had a side business selling pens for telemarketing firms. -
First Film

The Kids Breakup and so does his Marriage
By 1985, Depp had just landed his first film, and The Kids decided to break up their band; and his marriage. After Lori and Johnny's split, he met the actress on set of the film "Dummies". They dated and were engaged but they quickly broke up afterward. After that he met Jennifer Grey, and also proposed, but their romance was also short lived. -
Scores role in "21 Jump Street"
Depp started practicing more of his acting, and hired a private coach. It paid off because in 1987 he scored a role in "21 Jump Street", replacing Jeff Yagher as an undercover cop. -
Cry Baby
After his "21 Jump Street" contract ended, Depp took on a heavier role, starring in the '50s-kitsch musical Cry-Baby. That same year, Depp had the opportunity to also star in the film "Edward Scissorhands." Not only was Depp considered an "A-list" actor, but also grossed more than $54 million at the box office. After that, Depp portrayed himself as as a serious, dark, performer and took roles that would surprise and thrill his audiences.

Depp Forms a new band "P"
Stortly after his film "Edward Scissor-hands", Depp and some business partners bought "The Viper" Club in L.A., which soon became the 'hippest' place on the Sunset Strip. Depp used his club to show off his newly formed band P, which was a hit at the venue.

Tragedy Strikes "The Viper"
The critically acclaimed actor and teen heartthrob, River Phoenix, suffered from a drug overdose outside the club, and died. This caused Depp's reputation, and life to spin out of control. He started back up on drugs and battled depression. He also was in a very public and unhealthy relationship with Kate Moss. They were constantly making the Headlines for their behavior with each other. In 1994 Depp trashed the hotel that the couple had known to have had many arguments. -
Pirates
Depp earned the Academy Award nomination for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, in the "Pirates of the Caribbean." The film was a hit, creating the "Pirates" franchise. By the end of the year Depp was also in "Finding Neverland," starring as Peter Pan. This film earned him more than 10 award nominations, including Academy and Golden Globe nods.

Sparrow Returns for Dead Man's Chest
Depp returns as Jack Sparrow in the sequel, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" , which broke the box office record reaching their highest tally ever. The film after that did well too. Trouble in Paradise
After many great years of film making, Depp teams up with Tim Burton in the comedy "Dark Shadows." Although this film did well, unfortunately Depp's next film does not fare nearly as well as his past films. In 2013, Depp stars with Jerry Bruckheimer in the Disney film, "The Lone Ranger." It cost over $215 million to produce. The film only made around $48.9, leaving Disney with the potential loss of $190 million because of the film. -

Hackers Hold New Pirates Movie For Ransom
Disney is currently working with the FBI because a ransom-hacker has gotten a hold on the new "Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Men Tell No Tales." The hackers are threatening to release the bits of the film at a time, if their demands are not met. Currently Disney is refusing to pay; but these hackers have already been known for release the new "The Orange is the New Black" episodes when Netflix refused to pay.
