He invented a safety brake that could stop trains instantly. This is a very big deal because During this time period,trains were very popular. It was also very unsafe because trains were so new. Otis' invention probably saved many lives. -
Christopher sholes
He invented the first successful typewriter. This made it possible for inventors and people to comunicate with eachother. which was a big deal with all of the new advancements and creations in ths time period. -
John D. Rockefeller
He's the founder of the Standard Oil Company. The company was aggressively ran it until he officially retired in 1897. This resorce needed to increase because it's importance grew due to transprtation needs (trains mostly). -
Gustavis Swift
" He is credited with the development of the first practical ice-cooled railroad car." This made it possible to ship meats and goods that needed to be cool. This helped because around this time, people used trains to ship most things. -
Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison invented the light bulb and phonograph. Electricity became a big deal during this time period. Everything started becoming more advanced, Edison's inventions helped majorly with this. -
Andrew Carnegie
Invested in railroads. These were a big part of this time period and were starting to become very popular. Lead expansion in the steal industies, making better railroads and taller buildings. A larger and stronger supply. -

Bell invented the first telephone. This made it even easier than a typewriter for inventors and people to communicate with eachother. which was important because of all the different developments during this time. -

Created a quicker way for printing, made things so much easier.Faster way to get news out to people especialy during this time with all of the new creations. -

He opened many stores, (still used today). This created a place for people to sell things.
