Born in Tennessee. Patient was born breech however with no other complications. As an infant patient was never a sick child. This incident is his first hospitalization. -

Born in Tennessee. Patient gets along with his new baby sister. Rough houses with her sometimes but is mostly affectionate. Sister has been to the hospital for something every month since birth. -
Swims independently, patient
Parents set goal for him to swim independently by the end of the summer of 2012. Patient accomplished this goal in August. -

Had significant amount of ear infections during her first year of life which resulted in tubes being implanted. -

Family moves to Wisconsin
Family moved into a house in Whitefish Bay. They are loacted only 6 blocks from Shorewood. They have already established great relationships with their neighbors. They reside in a diverse neighborhood with a wide range of ages. Two weeks ago they had their first block party. Across the street lives a doctor and down the street are two nurses who mom has consulted on different occassions. -

Preschool starts, patient
At Shorewood Nursery. Patient only attended a few days before he became ill. -
Lymphadenitis begins, patient
Started with sore throat and lymphadenitis. On September 5th noted URI and signs and symptoms of rhinorrhea began. There was increased swelling of the left neck-warmth, tenderness, and decreased range of motion. -
Patient admitted to Children's Hospital
CT scan done on the day of admission. ENT determined that the abscess was to deep to operate. Patient was put on IV antibiotics to treat the infection. -
Second CT performed, patient
A second CT scan showed that the abscess is decreasing in size. It was determined that the patient will remain in the hospital over the weekend to continue receiving IV antibiotics.
