Kendra gets tricked at her daycare job to be pricked and replaced by a stingbulb -
Captive
The stingbulb identical of Kendra poses as Kendra at her house while the real Kendra is being held captive at a magical lectoblix's, who goes by Torina, house. -
"Back-stab"
Kendra, the stingbulb version, wrights letters to the society of the evening star about all of the information it has from Kendra's memories. When Seth finally figures out that something is wrong with Kendra he confronts her with the help of his grandparents' friends. When she is confronted she takes a pill and dies. -
Escape
After a few days of living in a pampered prison, the Sphynx shows up and forces Kendra to use the Oculus despite the risk of death. The night after she uses the Oculus she gets help by an unknown savior who gave her an alternate dimension knapsack, a stingbulb, and a note explaining her escape. She follows the advice and escapes. -
Hall of Dread
Kendra, Seth, and a few others enter the Hall of Dread in the basement to read a note left by Paton in a fairy language regarding a key to getting an artifact. Seth is overwhelmed by voices only he can hear coming from the demons in the hall. -
The Snatch
Kendra's "good" stingbulb that took her place in order for her escape comes and tells them all that she knew about what the Sphynx knew, and that forces them to decide to go after the next artifact themselves. After getting turned away by the centaurs, who hold the unicorn horn to get into Wyrmroost, Seth goes by himself to Graulas and he becomes a shadow charmer and goes into the maze to retrieve the unicorn horn. -
Wyrmroost
The team, Kendra, Warren, Trask, Mara, Gavin, Tanu, and Dougan, makes it to Wyrmroost and meets Agad the Wizard, former dragon. He helps give them directions to the fairy shrine. -
The sneaky stow away sorta saves the day
The team gets on their way the next morning to the fairy shrine, but they get stopped by a dragon who petrifies Kendra leaving her only with the ability to talk. When the dragon is about to eat Kendra, Seth jumps out of the knapsack and holds Kendra's hand to combine their abilities to move and talk to the dragon. When they are both about to be eaten, Gavin comes just in time to save them with his dragon brother abilities. -
Captured
They continue their journey but are stopped by a dwarf and griffins, who capture everyone except Kendra and Warren-who got injured and now has to remain in the knapsack- and took them to Thronis. -
The Nice Dragon and the Cooperative Giant
Kendra runs into a fairy dragon named Raxtus who helps her get to the fairy shrine and gives her a lift close to the Dragon temple. Seth convinces Thronis to let them go, as long as they return with figurines from the temple, and gave them a ride to the temple where they meet up with Kendra. -
The Three Gaurdians
Once the team enters the temple the struggle to make it past thy hydra and the two ancient dragons guarding the treasure inside. Once they defeat all three, they leave with the key and the figurines Thronis asked for. -
Ambush
When they exit the temple they are ambushed by two dragons and only Tanu and Seth make it out on griffins to Thronis's tower. Gavin turns into Navorog-the demon prince dragon- and eats Dougan and fights the dragons off. Ultimately Navorog/Gavin traps Warren in the knapsack, then Raxtus kills Navorog/Gavin. -
Going Home
Everyone left goes back home to Fablehaven with the key and learn that Kendra and Seth's parents are kidnapped by the society of the evening star.
