    F. Scott Fitzgerald is known as one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century. He was born in St. Paul Minnesota on September 24, 1896. F. Scott Fitzgerald is most known for his novel “The Great Gatsby”.

    When F. Scott Fitzgerald was 13 he published his first story in the school newspaper of St. Paul Academy.

    Fitzgerald attended Princeton and wrote musicals. Due to his devotion to writing in college his academic status suffered, and after 3 years he enrolled into the military.

    While in the army he met his future wife Zelda. Zelda wasn’t ready for commitment until Fitzgerald was financially ready. In 1919 he got discharged from the military and moved to NYC to find a way of fortune.

    A year later, he published his first novel “The site of Paradise”. This was a best seller and made him lots of money.

    A week after the novel was published he felt comfortable asking Zelda to marry him. Given the income he made off the sells of his novel, he knew he was ready to provide and marry her.

    Although Fitzgerald was pretty known and had lots of credibility behind his name, he was an alcoholic and struggled with depression. As he watched his friends get more successful and him the opposite it sort of took him for a turn.

    In 1937 he came to Hollywood to write screenplays, so he could gain more funds to release even more of his novels.

    Fitzgerald continued to do more side quest and release more novels for the financial gain and so that the people could see his talent.

    Fitzgerald was almost through his last novel “The last tycoon” when he sadly died of a heart attack on December 21, 1940
