New York Post puts Fitzgerald on their front page and depicts him as a pathetic, washed-up has-been. -

In summer 1937, Fitzgerald moves to Hollywood to be a screenwriter. -
Freelancing
MGM doesn't renew Fitzgerald's contract as a screenwriter and he has to do freelance work. -
Death
At age 44, Fitzgerald dies of a heart attack.
