    WWI started with the death of the Archduke Ferdinand of Austria Hungary. He was visiting Bosnia, with his family, when someone assasinated him and his family. This one event is what really sparked the first World War to begin, and led to many other events to follow.

    The German U-boat torpedoed the American ship, leaving about 700 passengers, and killing over 1,100 Americans. However, after the sinking, Germany issued the Sussex Pledge that said they would stop warfare, and attacks against the U.S, but they broke this pledge because they soon realized that they needed their submarines to officially win the whole war. The In the long-term, this sinking lead to the American protests against Germany, which resulted in submarine warfare.

Even though this eas a very short attack, it let the Bolsheviks really secure the power they had lost and already had. In the long term, this event was really a time where the Provisional government was under the threat of their own army.

    The German foreign secretary, Arthur Zimmerman, sent a telogram intended for the German ambassador to Mexico. It was intercepted and decoded by the British, and passed along to the U.S. It was interpreted by the U.S as an act of aggression because it promised support and land to Mexico if they would attack the U.S

    The Treaty of Versailles is signed, putting all ends to World War 1. This treaty puts all of the blame on Germany, and makes Germany pay for all of the costs of the war. This angered Germany, which in the long term, lead to Germany starting WWII by wanting the land and power they lost back.

    The Holocaust was a very long and brutal attack from Hitler's against the Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, and other outcasts living in Germany at the time of Hitler's reign. This started with Kristallnacht, which was the night of broken glass, when the nazis broke and destroyed all Jewish businesses. Hitler's set up multiple camps in Germany, and sent all Jews and others to them to do Hitler's work, or to be killed.

As a result of these tensions, many groups were formed, including the Warsaw Pact, and the Marshall Plan, creating tensions between other allied countries and the Soviet Union.
