Rising Action 1 Conflict
Abby is failing 6th grade and needs to get better grades in Math and Language Arts, but in Language Arts she has to do an extra credit project. -
Rising Action 2
Amira sends letter to America saying that she will be Abby's penpal. -
Rising Action 3
Abby sends letter to Kabul asking about mountains. -
Rising Action 4
Sadded replies to Abby's letter and says he doesn't like mountains. -
Rising Action 5
Sadeed sends his own letter for the first time along with Amira's letter explaining what was going on with the PenPal. He explained that he was tranlating what Amira was saying to English on paper. -
Rising Action 6
Sadeed sends a rock that looks like a "little mountain" to Abby, and Abby treasures it. -
Climax
Terrorist sees the letter with U.S. flag and threatens to hurt Sadeed. The terrorist doesn't like the United States and Sadeed and him get in to a fight. Luckily Sadeed escaped with only a few scrapes and bruises. -
Falling Action 1
Sadeed tells his teacher after he escapes from terrorist. Sadeed's teacher says he may no longer send letters to America. -
Falling Action 2
Sadeed and Amira send final letter to Abby explaining what happened. -
Falling Action 3
Abby's teacher is sad that the letters are done, but reminds Abby that to pass 6th grade she must do the oral presentation. -
Falling Action 4
Abby does her report, but the class was bored. Abby's teacher liked the report. -
Resolution 1
Abby Carson passes 6th grade' but she was still upset she couldn't write to Sadeed and Amira. -
Exposition 2
Sadeed sends final letter saying that he tried rock climbing up a real mountain with his uncle, and he loved it. Sadeed apoligized for not being able to write anymore.
