    Stock Market Crash
    The Stock Market Crash of 1929 in the U.S. led to the Great Depression.The economy in the United States was at the highest it had ever been. The stock market was booming and everyone was living a lavish life. But soon the boom was sent to an immediate halt of the 1929 Stock Market Crash. There was overproduction and the central banking system raised interests rates. This sent the U.S. economy into a downfall of unemployment and debt. This was the start of the Great Depression.

    Domino Theory
    The Domino Theory caused the great fighting of more countries as joined to fight for their allies. Many countries had alliances with each other before and during WWI. There was the Triple Alliance including Germany, Austria-Hungar, Italy and Turkey. And then there was the Triple Entente including Great Britain, France, Russia, and later the United States. This caused tension and unnecessary fighting. When one country was attacked another country would join.

    Serbia resented Austria Hungary because of their control over Bosnia. Archduke Ferdinand traveled to Serbia with his wife and the Serbians took this opportunity to kill him. Their operation was successful and sparked the beginning of WW1. Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia after the assassination.

    Germany was attacking using submarine warfare and attacked the Lusitania, a British ship. This issue was important to the U.S. because more than 120 Americans were killed in the attack. This caused the U.S. to change their opinion about not entering the war. They did not enter immediately after the attack but made the decision to get involved.

    The Zimmerman Telegram
    The Zimmerman Telegram offered an alliance for Germany and Mexico. The Zimmerman telegram was a coded telegram written by Germany and sent to Mexico. Germany was asking for an alliance to help if the United States were to join the war. Germany promised Mexico they would help fight to gain back the territory they had once lost to the United States. Americans found out about the telegram and it caused an outrage.

    Russia had to drop out of WWI in 1917 because of the start of their own revolution. The revolution started when Russia was not ready to join WWI but did so anyway. They were not equipped to join because their technology could not hold up with the rest. Russians lost faith in Czar and sought to overthrow him because of the way he was running their government and ruining their economy.

    Czar Nicholas II was forced to abdicate and replace the government temporarily. The first stage of the Russian Revolution was to overthrow Czar and replace him with a temporary government. The Duma established a temporary government. But the Bolshevik's were waiting to take over power with Lenin as their leader.

    Vladimir Lenin took over Russia from the temporary government during the revolution. Many people thought Lenin did a good job at leading with the ideas and efforts of the revolution. But many people were disappointed and sought to end his government . He created the Soviet government during his reign. The White Army were the opponents of the Bolshevik's, which was led by Lenin.

    War debt in the Treaty of Versailles caused damage to Germany's economy. The countries involved in the treaty placed all the blame on Germany. They made Germany pay $30 billion in reparations for the way. This caused Germany's economy to suffer and they became resentful. Many countries in Europe suffered economically bechase of the war debt.

    League of Nations
    The League of Nations was a result of WWI but later failed. Everyone wanted to keep lasting peace after WWI. They did not want alliances because of its negative impact in WWI. They created the League of Nations to instill peace for everyone. It was established to negotiate disputes rather than fighting. 40 nations joined including the United States, but we later refused to join and the league failed without the U.S.

    The economy downfall in the U.S. caused great uproar in the economies of many other countries. The United States stock market crash not only left their economy disastrous but left the countries connected also in despair. The U.S. had been loaning money to Germany because of their unpayable reparations after WWI. The U.S. had also been loaning money to Great Britain after the war. This caused an economy issue in the other countries.

    The New Deal
    The New Deal was created by Roosevelt to boost the economy. Roosevelt was elected in 1933 and acted quickly to stabilize the economy in the U.S. He created the New Deal, a set of programs to hep the economy recover. It provided millions of jobs for people and helped families survive. By 1937 the economy had recovered greatly but many New Deal programs are still in use today.

    The Munich Agreement gave into Hitler's demands. Many people thought Germany deserved Sudetenland because of everything taken away from them after WWI. The agreement was between Great Britain, Germany, France, and Italy to give back the land that was Germany's and that Hitler wanted. Hitler later broke this agreement and took over Czechoslovakia and people now saw Hitler's intentions.

    Hitler's aggression was growing as he had broken the Munich Agreement and invaded the rest of Czechoslovakia. He exposed his true intentions and everyone saw what his rise of power could lead to. Great Britain were the only ones in the war powerful enough to do something on the Axis side. Chamberlain said he would not fight until Hitler invaded Poland. Hitler did so and Chamberlain joined in, starting WWII.

    The Battle of Midway was the battle between the USA and the allies fighting Japan. The USA was able to defeat Japan in the Pacific Islands. This was a turning point in the war because it allowed the USA and its allies to be on the offensive front. This allowed them to take over and give the U.S a greater sense of hope and confidence.

    The Yalta Conference was a meeting of the three world leaders when the war was finally coming to an end. Josef Stalin, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Winston Churchill czm together and met to agree on post war actions like requiring Germany's full surrender. Theysplit up Germany into four zones to be run by the three of them. Later we know the USSR does not follow what they agreed on and the USA broke out into the Cold War sometime after.

    Victory in Europe also known as VE Day was the final defeat of the Nazi's. It was the day when the Nazi soldiers put down their guns and surrendered. This was a big step to the final surrender of Japan and the end of the war. The people of Europe were finally free again and could start rebuilding what they had lost.

    The Manhattan Project was created to create an atomic bomb to help end the war. It was a secret project and experiment. The first bomb was tested on July 16, 1945. People did not support the relationship because it would bring about a new age of fighting that can be extremely deadly. It was also used to kill thousands of innocent people. The upside was ending the war quickly with no more fighting from Japan. It was a guaranteed win.

    The Cold War was a time of tension after WWII between the US and USSR. IT started after the war when Stalin wanted Germany for himself and to be Communist, and the USA wanted them to be a democracy. Berlin was the divided capital-The USA took over the west and made it a democrscy. Stalin took over the east side and turned it communist. This divide caused tension and conflict between the USA and USSR for a long period of time. They still struggle with their relationship today.

    The Marshall Plan
    The Marshall Plan was created by President Truman to help European countries repair. From the lessons learned after WWI, Truman decided to help Germany and other countries recover after WWII instead of placing all the blame on a country and making them pay. This was to help these economies grow and repair after the war. It was also created to keep the peace among everyone instead of disregarding economic issues like before.
