The Oyster Bay, N,Y President Theodore Roosevelt came on board wishing Peary luck. -
The Roosevelt arrived at Cape Sheridan
The Roosevelt arrived at Cape Sheridan on September 5th Matt was the interpeter as well as the dog driving. -
One Special Possesion
The men were ready to go and they took one special possesion. Matts was the Bible. -
Pioneer Trail
Barrlet and Borup went to the Pioneer Trail to get started again -
Matt's sledge broke
Matt's sledge broke so Matt and the other men stopt to help Matt. -
The lead was in the way
Henson and Peary caught up to Barrlet, the lead was in the way. -
Waiting to cross
The men saw the sun rise as they were waiting to cross the big lead. -
Crossing the Big Lead
The big lead was frozen over so the men crossed. -
Good Luck
Henson and Marvin took hands and said" Good Luck". -
bang! bang!
Henson and Peary got back to the other men and fell asleep and the men woke up to a cracking noise the lead had water rushing at them. -
Barrlets turn to go back
It was Barrletts turn to go back. But Barrlet understood that Peary needed Matt. -
Checking
Peary started out on foot to see if there was any soft ice. -
Saveing MATT
Matt fell throw the ice because it was to thin. -
100 miles
Matt and Peary could tell they had marched 100 miles in one day. -
Feeling Good
Matt felt good that he was half way there. -
Done
Matt and Peary made it to the Roosevelt and they were done with the expiditon.
