The lost years of Henry Hudson
Litlle is known about Hudson's early life. It is reported that he married a woman named Katherine and had three children. He must've had a talent for navigation early on because he became a commander in his early 20s. -
First journey
In 1607, Henry Hudson had his first journey as a ship's commander. His goal was to find a northern route to Asia.
Due to icy conditions they had to turn back after making it to Greenland. -
Second journey
Once again Hudson set out to find the Northern route to Asia and was unsuccessful. Instead, the crew sailed to Novaya Zemlya, an archipelago in the Arctic Ocean to the north of Russia, and were blocked by ice. Henry returned to England. -

Hudson joined this company as a commander. -

Hudson's crew gets stuck in the ice
The crew became trapped in the ice in James Bay and spent the winter onshore. -
Mutiny and Death
Frustrated with the harsh conditions, Hudson's crew revolts and strand him and his son in a lifeboat, along with seven other sick crew members.
Hudson was never heard from again. -
