Started Attending Burn Brae Day Camp
The Sarah began attending Burn Brae Day Camp of the Creative Arts at age 4. This is where she met some of her best friends, who she is still close with to this day, and is one of the only places on earth where she felt she could actually be her odd self. She has attended every summer since, except for this past summer when her parents forced her to go to film camp instead. -
First day of elementary school
The Sarah began her journey towards education when she started kindergarten at McKinley Elementary School. She struggled through elementary school, then junior high, and is now struggling through the senior high. -

Nancy Pelosi was the first woman to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives. She blocked the impeachment of George W Bush, opposed the addition of more US troops in Iraq, and supported Obama's Affordable Care Act. -
Sarah began playing the piano
In first or second grade, the Sarah began taking piano lessons having been inspired to do so by her sister, who also took them. The Sarah soon realized that she liked this "music" phenomenon. This soon led to her learning to play other instruments, although she eventually did quit piano lessons because she did not enjoy having to practice every day and liked taking things at more of her own pace. -
Sarah gets her first camera
The Sarah received her first camera for Christmas, and proceeded to film and photograph everything around her. This led to her desire to become a filmmaker, and to the creation of such classics as the two hour long "Littlest Pet Shop: The Movie" (which she forced her entire family to watch). She still attempts (and fails) to make entertaining films to this day. -
Barack Obama is elected President
Democrat Barack Obama was elected the 44th president of the United States on January 20, 2009. He instituted many policies such as the Affordable Care Act, ending US military involvement in Iraq, and is currently attempting to end US military involvement in Afghanistan. -
Obama gives his first State of the Union address.
President Barack Obama gave his first State of the Union address. This focused on improving the US's economy, ending the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy in the military- which forced LGBTQ+ soldiers to remain closeted or risk being kicked out of the army-, creating more jobs, and making healthcare more easily available. -
Sarah discovers imovie trailers
In 2010, iMovie added the feature of creating movie trailers to its app. The Sarah's mother had recently acquired an iPad, which the Sarah often used. Upon downloading this app and discovering the trailers feature, the Sarah's love for filmmaking was reignited and she began making many "interesting" movie premises for trailers. -
US Supreme Court rules Miranda rights must be read when interrogating a minor
In a 5-4 decision, the US Supreme Court ruled that minors being interrogated must be read their Miranda rights. Miranda rights inform someone that they have the right to remain silent, that anything they say can be used in court against them, that they have the right to an attorney, and if they cannot afford one the court will appoint them one. This was decided on because otherwise children will often feel pressured to answer questions when interrogated by the police, and are not obligated to. -
Sarah buys her dream camera
Sarah spent four years saving, and finally had enough money to buy her dream camera, the Canon T3i. She began using this camera in all of her projects, and loves it like a child. -
Scott Walker becomes first governor in US history to survive a recall
Republican Scott Walker, who was governor of Wisconsin, survived a recall vote against Milwaukee Mayor, Democrat Tom Barrett. He was the first governor in US history to survive a recall vote and keep his position as governor of Wisconsin. -
Sarah started junior high
This began a very dark, stressful phase in the Sarah's life. In seventh grade she had no friends in her neighborhood, which led to depression and obsessive compulsive disorder. This has since been resolved, but Sarah still does not enjoy school and the pressure it puts on her. -
Defense Secretary Lifted Ban on Women in Combat
US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta lifted the ban on allowing women in combat in the army. This lift was not definite- Congress then had a month to review it, and could block the lifting of the rule. However, they did not, and women are now allowed in combat. -
Supreme Court declares police need a warrant to search electronic devies
The Supreme Court reached a unanimous ruling that police forces required a warrant to search cell phones and other electronic devices. -
The Sarah learns to play the ukulele
The Sarah received a ukulele for her birthday, and taught herself how to play over the course of a few months after receiving a crash course from her best friend's dad, who is a music teacher. She eventually began writing her own (bad) songs and continues to play to this day when she feels stressed, sad, or just bored. -
Ashton Carter becomes new Secretary of Defense
Abington Senior High School alumnus Ashton Carter was sworn in as the 25th Secretary of Defense, replacing Chuck Hagel. He hoped to increase US military aid in Ukraine, defeat ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria, and allow transgender people to serve in the military. -
Hillary Clinton announced her plans to run in the 2016 election
Democrat Hillary Clinton announced that she planned to run in the 2016 presidential election. She became the democratic nominee recently, and is up against Republican nominee Donald Trump for the presidency. -
Same-Sex Marriage is Legalized Nationwide
The US Supreme court ruled in Obergefell v Hodges that state bans on same-sex marriage are unconstitutional. This led to nationwide legalization of gay marriage, and thus over 100,000 same-sex couples getting married by November. -
The Sarah goes to film camp
This past summer, the Sarah was forced by her parents to attend a four week film camp in New York. It was her first time at an overnight camp, and she did not fare very well- she ate unhealthily and was very anxious for most of the time. Now the Sarah creature is concerned for how she will fare at college. The Sarah creature also is now conflicted about whether to continue filmmaking, because she felt that all her films made at camp were terrible. She is unsure about her future. -
Senator Chis Murphy holds a 15 hour filibuster
Democrat Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut held a filibuster for nearly 15 hours after the Orlando nightclub shooting, which was the deadliest mass shooting in US history. The filibuster continued until the Senate agreed to vote on two laws that would enforce more gun control. -
