The American constitution took effect -
The Naturalization Act
Under this Act, only free white people have the right to obtain citizenship, single women and widows, and therefore the right to vote. It is only for wealthy white people. And white women do not have the right to vote. -
The right to vote
By 1830 most of the American states removed the property requirement to vote. -
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
This Treaty grand the right of naturalization to all residents of territories annexed to America after the Mexican- American war. -
Dred Scott decision
Under the supreme court decision, black people can not be a citizen of America. -
The Thirteen Amendment
This Amendment outlawed slavery but did not grant the right of citizenship to enslaved people. -
The Fourteenth Amendment
This Amendment granted birthright citizenship and included black people. -
The Chinese Exclusion
The Law that bans immigration based on race or nationality in America. -
The 19th Amendment
This Amendment granted women the right to vote. -
The Indian Citizenship Act
This act extends American citizenship to all Native America.
