By the early 40's, football players were liking the idea of having protection on their heads. The board of leaders for the NFL later made a decision to make safety a priority. The Helmet Starts to evolve
In the 40's, they were using leather. But now, they drifted away form that. They started to explore with plastic helmets. And the helmets were a hit. (Pun intended). The Facemask Starts to change
In 1962 Riddell came out with a product that changed the history of facemasks. They produced a helmet called the BT-5. Which was a helmet with a double bar facemask. Changing the standards
In the 1960's helmets were made just to be an average helmet. But later, the 70's changed that. In 1973 the invention of the of the micro-fit helmet became a big success in the process. This soon became the #1 choice for most football players at that time. As well as the helmet being a micro- fit, Riddell came out with the helmet that was made out of plastic. New material
By the middle of the 1980's helmet making companies wanted to switch over to a different type of material to make helmets out of. Using the type of plastic that they were using was too expensive. Finishing up
In 2008 there was a brand called Xenieth that was formed. They came out with a product that changed the whole game. As well as being the safest helmet on the market, it was the first one that had been designed for comfort. Xenieth helmets came with inflatable air pads. Which makes it more safe, causing less concussions, as well as being comfortable.
