In 1455 Gutenberg introduced the printing press to Europe. The press was revolutionary and sparked a change of culture as a result of a greater access to literature. -
Analytical Engine
The Analytical engine which is often accepted as the first type of computer is built by Charles Babbage. Charles began the project in 1837 and worked on it until his death in 1871. -
Samuel Morse's Telegraph
During the 1830's and 40's Samuel Morse developed his telegraph. It was finally finished on May 24, 1844 when he transmitted his famous message, "What hath God wrought?", between Washington and Baltimore. -
Binary code
George Boole invents binary a type of code which is still used today. The code is written using only 0's and 1's. -
Remington Manual Typewriter
Although many prototypes were available the first available, working version, was invented by Christopher Latham Sholes. It took until the 30's for the idea to really pick up as people were unconvinced it was faster than writing by hand. -
Telephone invention
The first basic telephone was invented in 1854 by Charles Bourseul but Alexander Graham Bell was awarded the first patent in America in 1876. In 1877 the first line was created. -
First film
The Horse in Motion is filmed to end the debate questioning if all four of a horses hooves are ever off the ground at the same time when running. This film not only ended a debate it became the first motion picture. -

Guglielmo Marconi invented the first radio; sending the first radio signal in 1895. -

Taylor Farnsworth had the idea of a television when he was only 14. By August 26th, 1930 he held the patent. -

The first video game, Pong, was invented by William Higinbotham in 1958. -
First wireless phone call
The first phone call was made by Martin Cooper a Motorola employee at a demonstration in New York. The call was received in New Jersey at Motorola's headquarters. -
World Wide Web
The World Wide Web was invented by a British scientist by the name of Tim Berners-Lee. Originally it was designed as a way for scientists and scholars to share information but it quickly progressed into what we know today. It was invented in 1889 but it wasn't released to the public until August 6th, 1991. -
