Apple saw what other people were doing and improved there designs. They called it "1000 songs in your pocket". It did everything the other mp3 players did but had the Apple name behnd it. -

It only hold 4gb. There was many generations but was discontinued in september of 2007. -

There are 5 generations so far. But there is no doubt in my mind that they will make another one. Not only are you able to lisen to music on this device. But you can surf the internet download games to play. And the whole screen is a touch screen.
