The first ever phone
The first-ever mobile phone was made a whole 10 years before they were commercially available. Martin Cooper, a senior engineer at Motorola, started phone´s history when he called a rival telecommunications company and told them he was speaking with a phone. There were technically phones before this though. In 1908 a patent was issued in Kentucky for a wireless telephone. It was more like a 2-way radio than an actual phone that we know and love today. -
Mobira Senator from Nokia
This is the first phone that was available to consumers. It weighed 10 kilograms so no chance you could carry it all day. It used a network called Nordic mobile telephony which was part of 1st generation (1G) -
Motorala startac
Skipping a full 14 years later, we now have the Motorola Startac. This is the first phone that was branded as a luxury product so it was taxed. It was in the year of the first clamshell phone as well. It weighed only 88 grams and was able to fit in a pocket. -
iPhone
The iPhone is probably the most popular type of phone today made by the brand Apple and on January 29, 2007. Steve Jobs (the company´s CEO) presented the iPhone. Back then the iPhones were only compatible with 4G but now we can use 5G with the iPhone 12. The iPhones have developed in the years. -
Future phones
I think future phones will look like they have lots of value with gold and inside it will look like there are gems swimming in water or something. Oh yeah, and 10G. I think the cases will also be made out of some kind of metal that will never break the phone.
