    Seneca Falls Convention
    The Seneca Falls convention of 1848 is considered the beginning of the American Womans suffrage movement. During this convention, activists Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott (along with many other women) drafted "the Declaration of Sentiments" which called for womens equality and suffrage rights.

    The 19th Amendment prohibits voting discrimination based on sex and this amendment allowed for women to vote for the first time in America.

    The cover shown is of the original cover for the fourth game in the tomb raider series, "Tomb Raider: the last revelation". Lara Croft still looks very similar to how she looked in the original game, not much has changed physically.

    "Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness" is the ninth game in the Tomb Raider series. This was regarded by the video game community as the first major failure in this series. There were supposed to be trilogies made regarding this game, but they were cancelled due to the negative opinions. Croft's character is still cartoon styled, but she's wearing all black on the cover.

    Even with the same name as the 1996 version, "Tomb Raider" (2013), the fourteenth game in the series, marked a complete rewrite of Croft's character. Her character has much more detailed features than the earlier games and the style is more realistic, less cartoon.

    Originally posted by Tarana Burke in 2006, a sexual assault survivor and activist, the #MeToo movement came to life in 2017 and its purpose was to draw attention to the amount of women that have been sexually assaulted. Using the #MeToo, women could see other womens posts who have experienced the same trauma. The hashtag was meant to empower those who have been assaulted through empathy and solidarity.

    "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" is the seventeenth game in the tomb raider series. On the cover, Lara Croft is pictured on a tree, her features are much more realistic, and she is wearing clothes that make sense for what she's doing.

    Ever since technology and mass media have been available to the public, society heavily influences even the simplest aspects of media. The way female characters in video games are portrayed tends to be one of these aspects that is heavily influenced by society. Something as small as the clothes they are wearing or what they're doing can give insight into current societal conditions and opinions regarding women.
