Igor Sikorsky invented the helicopter in 1940. It was an improvement on the jet because of its better control.

The Vostok 1 was the first rocket to bring a man into space. That man was Yuri Gagarin, a Russian Cosmonaut. This was an improvement because it allowed travel outside of the Earth’s Atmosphere.
