    This is the first time in history psychology has been incorporated to assist in the study of children and what makes them tick at school. And through G. Stanley Hall and his studies, students today now receive a curriculum that is based both on a subject approach, but also a child centered approach. This was a huge achievement in the Educational System in the late nineteenth century.
  • The Cardinal Principles Report of 1918

    The Cardinal Principles Report of 1918
    Prior to this, academic equality was unknown of. Subjects, curriculum's, and approaches were all very different from school to school, and state to state. This report paved the road for schools to all get on the same page about what was being taught, how is should be taught, and included assessments that were brought in statewide to ensure all students were receiving the same education.

    Brown vs The Board of Education
    African American's are finally allowed to attend schools with White Students. The Supreme Court saw that separate but equal was really not equal, and that students of color were not getting the same education as those that were White. This ruling was both morally and educationally appropriate and was well overdue.

    This law was and still is a huge progression in the direction of education for those individuals who have disabilities. The importance of this simply is that care is provided for those who prior to this law, could not get an education. Also, with the hopeful intentions of integrating students into regular classrooms before/after/and during care really makes this stand out.
  • No Child Left Behind Act

    No Child Left Behind Act
    Finally the government gets it together and implements an accountability system for each state to abide by. All teachers are expected to be highly qualified in their fields to ensure children get the highest quality of education. Plus, all public schools have to submit to regular standard testing that ensure students are all getting the best education they can and are showing academic progress year to year.
