Events that formed federation

  • WA's Government

    WA received their own government ,later than all the other colonies.

  • Becoming part of the Commonwealth

    even people from each colony came to a consultation with Sydney and New Zealand to agree on the name Commonwealth of Australia and to become part of the Commonwealth. This meant that on the 9th of April the adopted a draft of the consultation.
    This happened through to April

  • Developing a voting system

    QLD developed the voting system later found by other states and the Federal Government in 1918. (I do not know what day it was)

  • Tariffs

    Australian Colony's were given power to change the charge of the tariffs.

  • Henry Parkes 24th October 1889 Sir Henry Parkes, Premier of New South Wales, calls on the colonies to Federate. He made a speech at Tenterfield in favor of Federation.

  • WA's Public Vote

    WA had a public vote, the woman in WA got the right to vote.

  • Australia was now called a whole happy country

    Australia was proclaimed a whole country. After the 1st Of January, we were called Austrailia. This is why we now use the word Austrailia so much.
