Holocaust
The Nazi’s spoke against Jews even before the start of World War II, they blamed them for everything; from the defeat of World War I and the Great Depression. People were looking for someone to blame and coincidently Hitler was there to urge them on, this hatred grew into what was called the Holocaust. Many Jews were high-ranking, and no doubt the citizens were jealous, so that gave them even more reason to dislike them, eventually Jews were considered dirt. -
Start of World War II
Started in Europe. -
Invasion of France.
After a winter of quiet on the Western Front the German Wehrmacht finally invaded France. -
Fall of France/Dunkirk.
Despite the extensive Maginot Line, a numerical superior army and support from the Commonwealth, France surrendered in just 6 weeks. -
Battle of Britain.
The Battle of Britain begun after the French surrendered in June 1940. Hitler turned his sights on an invasion of Britain, starting with gaining control of the skies. -
Invasion of Russia.
Using Blitzkrieg strategies, the German army invaded deep into Russia leaving nothing behind them. -
Pearl Harbour.
The United States of America were attacked by the Japanese Empire in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. America finally joined the war in full force. -
D Day
Germany's Fortress Europe was finally invaded by the Allies in June 1944. Five years after being beaten out of Europe, the Allies were back to stay. -
End of the war in Europe.
Germany was being pushed back and back from 1943 until 1945. The end of the war is remembered by many atrocities from both the Allies and Axis Powers. -
Atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
An American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people. Three days later, a second B-29 dropped another A-bomb on Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 people. Japan's Emperor surrended on August 15.
