    When Hitler invaded Poland, France and Britain declared war on Germany. After taking over Poland, Germany attacked France. France fell June of 1940.     The battle of Midway was a four day battle between aircrafts. The U.S. destroyed hundreds of Japanese airplanes and regained control the Pacific.   • D-Day

    On June 6, 1944 General Dwight Eisenhower led U.S. and Allied troops in an invasion of Normandy, France. On May 7, 1949 Germany surrendered.

    Four million troops poured over the Russsian border on June 22, 1944. Within one month, over two and half million Russians had been killed, wounded or captured. Winter came and the German troops were still in summer uniforms. Stalin sent in 2 million more men. In the spring the German Army was almost completly destroyed
