The Egyptian government decided to seize control of the Suez Canal. The canal was considered a world power and the Egyptians won. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
A U-2 spy plane was secretly flying over Cuba to see the activity going on there. They photographed the Soviets creating nuclear missile sites on the island of Cuba. -
Soviet Invasion of Czechoslovakia
The Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia to disperse reformist trends in Prague. They succeeded in stopping it, but later on this will lead to their demise. -

The Soviets decided to break their treaty with Afghanistan and invaded. This war lasted for 9 long years, and lead to the fall of the USSR. -

Chernobyl was a disaster that killed many people. This disaster could have been prevented but thankfully it was resolved quickly. -

The Fall of Berlin was called a pivotal movement. The pressure and confusion from political reforms of eastern Europe people caused the border to be opened. -

The fall of the Soviet Union happened after Stalin died. New leaders were erected and decided to change from a communist country, to a federal and republican type government.
