1607-1763 The Salutary Neglect act was the 17th and 18th century British policy of avoiding enforcement and parliament laws to keep the American colonies obedient to England. -
The Stamp Act
The Stam Act was passed by British Parliament on March 22nd, 1765. The Stamp Act was a new tax that applied to all American COlonists that required them to pay the tax on every piece of printed paper they used. (Such as, licenses, newspapers, legal documents, playing cards) -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Masacre was the murder of five colonists by British Regulars. This even occured on March 5th,1770. It was considered a "street fight" between a "patriotic mob" and a group of British Soldiers. The mob threw snowballs, sticks and stones at the soldiers. The fight is what killed five of the colonists and was one of the main events leading to the Revolutionary War. After the Boston Massacre, the Royal Governer removed the British Army. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a politial protest performed by the Sons of Liberty in Boston on December 16th,1773. The Sons of Liberty disguised themselves as American Indians and got onto the ship, they took tons of chests of tea and threw them into the Boston Harbor. The British government got highly upset about this act and it became another event that led to the American Revolution. -
The Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts were the series of punitive laws that were passed by the British Parliament in 1774 after the Boston Tea Party event. The Intolerable Acts were meant to punish the Massachusetts Colonists for the Boston Tea Party and took away self-government and historic rights from MAssachusetts leading to the American Revolution. -
Battle at Lexington and Concord
This battle kicked off the American Revolutionary War. Thirteen American COlonies were 13 newly independent sovereign states and no longer apart of the British Empire, even though they were at this battle marked the first armed battle of the American Revolutionary War. -

A statement that explained that the 13 American Colonies were 13 newly independent Sovereign states and no longer apart of the British Empire, even though they were still at war. -
The WInter at Valley Forge
1777-1778 no actual date The Winter at Valley Forge was a military comp for the American Continental Army during the wInter year 1777-1778 of the American Revolutionary War. Starvation, disease, and winter exposure killed nearly 2,500 soldiers. -
The Surrender at Yorktown
General Cornwallis brought 8,000 Brisih troops to Yorktown Virginia, he surrendered his troops. They had expected help from other ships being sent from New York and they never arrived, so the Thirteen Colonies found their opportunity to beat the world's largest empire. -
The Treaty Of Paris
