  • The Proclomation of 1763

    The Proclomation of 1763
    The royal Proclomation was created to restrain colonists from expanding and taking over the Native Americans territory that they have had for a very long time in the past. The Indians were afraid that the colonists would expand so much it would drive them out of their territories, so the King decided to interfere and create the Proclomation, which restrained the colonists from expanding and taking over. It also established four new colonies.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was the tax that was presented on any printed material. These materials include newspapers, playing cards, legal documents, and many other things that the colonies used. This act was to help pay for the troops stationed in North America.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was the killing of five colonists by British regulars on March 5, 1770. This event occurred due to high tensions that occurred right when the British people arrived in Boston. The high tenstions caused a mob that started on this date that would throw sticks, stones, and snowballs at the British, which ended in five colonists dead. This event was one of the main causes for the American Revolution.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party occurred as a a protest to taxation from the British. During that night within three hours, 342 chests of tea were thrown overboard. The actions of Samual Adams and The Sons of LIberty caused the Americans and the British to argue more and have another reason to declare war against one another.
  • Battle at Lexington and Concord

    Battle at Lexington and Concord
    The Battles of Lexington and Concord started the American Revolutionary War. There was tenstion between the 13 colonies and the British soldiers. On April 18th 1775 hundreds of British troops marched from Boston to Concord in order to seize an arms cache. . A confrontation on the Lexington started the fighting, which caused the British to retreat quickly.
  • The Signing of the Declaration of Independence

    The Signing of the Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was a statement that said the thirteen colonies were independant states and were no longer a part of the British Empire. The 56 people who signed the Declaration of Independence were all representatives of the 13 colonies who wanted to not be under control of the British government. One reason the 13 colonies wanted to seperate was because they were being taxed for everything.
  • Surrender of Yorktown

    Surrender of Yorktown
    The British General, General Cornwallis brought 8,000 troops to Yorktown Vriginia expecting to arrive to British ships that would help them succeed in the war. Those ships never showed up, which was a huge disadvantage for them. The French ships had blocked the British ships from reaching land and providing support for the British, therefore General George Washington who had allied with the French forces took this oppurtunity and ended up beating the wolrd's largest empire.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The treaty of Paris was negociated between the US and Great Britian. Thist reaty ended the revolutionary war as well as recognizing American Independence. A five- member commission to negotiate a treaty was formed by the Continental Congress, but 2 men were not able to meet at the same time. The three men that actually conducted it were Franklin, Adams, and Jay.
