    "The Enlightment" was an era spanning from the 16th century to the 18th century that focused on reason, hence the title; "Age of Reason." We studied science and philosophy to make it fit with reason.
  • Sons of Liberty.

    Sons of Liberty.
    Most known for their partake in the Boston Tea Party, the "Sons of Liberty" fought the British rule through activism. Through extreme civil disobedience and sometimes violence, these instigators made impacts as strong as the Boston Tea Party.
  • Townshend act of 1767

    Around this time, Britain was very poor. To help with this, the British Parliament passed the Townshend Acts, which initiated taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    In the 1770's, the British parliament imposed taxes on American colonists. This sparked riots and violence in retaliation. On March 5th, 1770, Private Hugh White was the only soldier guarding a building with the king's money. angry colonists stormed the building. The violence proceeded to escalate and ended in open fire killing five and injuring six.

    In the 1760's, the British Parliament imposed taxes on American colonists. The American colonists were outraged being taxed without having any representation in parliament. This resulted in a political protest where American colonists dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston harbor.

    The first continental congress, taking place on September 5th and October 26th 1774, was a meeting of delegates chosen from 13 colonies. The goal of this and primary accomplishment was a compact among the colonies to boycott British goods.

    This meet was held in the Independence Hall, a month after shots had been fired at Lexington and Concord, this was the congress preparing for war.

    Kicking off the American Revolutionary War, The Battles of Lexington and Concord were fought on April 19th, 1775. They fought in Middlesex County, Lincoln, Cambridge, Menotomy, Massachusetts Bay, Lexington, and Concord.
