Events of the American Revolution

  • Proclamation of 1763

    It followed the French and Indian War. It helped organize North America's new Nothern Empire.

    The Quebec Act was seen by the colonists as a new model for British colonial administration. Colonist feared it would strip them of their elected assemblies, and promote the Roman Catholic faith in preference to widely-held Protestant beliefs.
