    The British general Burgoyne attempted to flank the Americans. Arnold anticaipated it and only allowed them to take a farm with high casualties. Burgoyne realized he wanted to wait for reinforcements. He then realised that he was on his own and started attacking again. The Americans held him off and forced them to fall back. It was the turning point because the Americans actually started winning.
