    Spark- Battles of Lexington and Concord
    First Revolutionary Battle at Lexington and ConcordThe colonists were hiding gun powder and weapons and the British soldiers found out about this.The redcoats reached Lexington not knowing that some minutemen were waiting for them there. Shots were heard and fighting began. 8 colonists were found dead and 10 were injured. The British however were unharmed. The British went towards Concord, which they found 300 minutemen waiting for them. 73 soldiers died and 200 inujured. "The shot heard around the world" meant the colonists bravery. #minutemen

    Battle of Bunker HillThe Battle of Bunker Hill was an important victory for the Colonies independence. 115 colonists were killed, 305 colonists were injured, and 30 colonists were captured by the Brtitish. The Battle of Bunker Hill started when the colonists found out that the British wanted to take over Dorchester Heights. The Colonists decided they had to protect their land from the British. #freedom

    Battle of SaratogaThe British General Burgoyne made his way to Albany, New York with all of his troop. Burgoyne recaptured Fort Ticonderoga, but suffered a loss of many men. The American General Horatio Gates surrounded Burgoyne's men in Saratoga, New York. On October 17, 1777 Burgoyne surrenderd his army to the Americans. Saratoga is a turning point because America had a chance to prove themselves as not just a hopeless country. #victory.

    Surviving Valley Forge"If the army does not get help soon, in all likelihood it will disband" conceded Geroge Washington. Everyone wanted to quit because they were all hurt from being beaten. But. they didn't disband. There were many diseases, and people dying from starvation. People couldn't take the cold weather. The weather was growing worse as the seasons changed. Many deaths took over. Valley Forge was the low point because of all the deaths that occured. #unbearable

    The Articles of ConfederationThis was the first constitution of the United States. The document was created on November 15 1777, but wasn't ratified by the 13 states until March 1, 1781. The articles created a loose government and a weak government. This left most of the power with the state governments. The want for a stronger Federal government led to the Constitutional Convention. The present Constitution replaced the Articles of Confederation on March 4, 1789. #government

    YorktownThe Battle of Yorktown was the most important battle throughout the Revolutionary War. The Americans and French were fighting together.The troops arrived in Yorktown on September 28, 1781. Cornwallis was surrounded by many American troops, His only option was to take a ship to Chesapeake. The French drove the ships away before the British could get to them. The British were trapped, and Cornwallis surrendered on October 17, 1781. The Americans finally got their independence. #last battle

    Treaty of Paris Ends the American RevolutionRepresentatives from the United States and Britain signed the treaty. Britain signed for the United States is recognized as an independent nation. Britain also gave up all the land they claimed to the land from the Atlantic all the way to Missippi River. The United States signed for returning all the rights of the loyalists and give the property taken from them during the war. #give back
