They marched into Lexington in the night and defeated the minutemen, but Paul Revere warned the people of Concord. Thanks to Revere's warning, the minutemen in Concord made the British retreat. #TheBritishAreComing

    SaratogaBritish General Burgoyne were making a slow trip to Albany, New York, due to the transportation of their supplies and the American troops along the way. The British had suffered severe loss in soldiers at Vermont. American General Horatio Gates surrounded remaining British forces at Saratoga. On October 17th, Burgoyne surrendered his entire army. The threat to New England was over. This victory gave hope to the Patriots and convinced the French and Spanish to join the Patriots. #SuckItEngland

    Valley Forge- The Story of Us The Continental Army was stranded in cold Valley Forge for winter. They were tired, they had nothing to provide warmth, and had no sufficient quarters. The soldiers were beginning to lose hope. General George Washington asked for Thomas Paine to read his speech, "The American Crisis", which reinforced the troop greatly. Many Americans sent supplies to the troops after learning of their condition. #ThanksPaine

    Yorktown After a few conflicts, General Cornwallis moved to Chesapeake Bay. Washington used this to trap the British by surrounding them as the French Blocked the bay. After holding out for 3 weeks, Cornwallis surrendered on ovtober 17th, 1781.This defeat discourages the British and finally acknowledged America's independence. #TimeToTalkPeace.
