"On the Origin of Species" is a book written by Charles Darwin in 1859 in England. He is considered one of the pioneers of scientific literature. This book was very important because it was a set of biological theories that establish that current beings is the result of the evolution of living beings from the past. -

The first volume of "The Capital" was written by Karl Marx. It was published in Hamburg. It is a treatise about classical political economy on the relations of the domination between the bourgeoisie. -

This is a canal that joins the Red sea and the Mediterranean sea. This canal was open by the French Ferdinand de Lesseps authorized by the Egyptians in a lavish ceremony. It was a significant canal because the people could trade between Asia and Europe in a shorter distance, so traders did not have to travel round the whole African continent. -

The first expedition to reach the geographic South Pole was led by the Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen and his team, firstly they were going to travel to the Arctic, but they realised that it was explored by some Americans so they continued travelling. This event is very relevant because they were the first men there.
