Spainish officials shut down the lower Mississsipi for trading. This didn't help the economy.

States traded amongst each other and the government didn't have much money.

Shays Rebellion

Farmers are being taxed and charged. in 1786 farmers in three counties started to protest and revolt. War veteran Daniel Shay led hundreds of farmers to battle.
