Hitler becomes leader of the Nazi Party
Under HItler’s leadership, the Nazi party grew into a massive movement. The Nazi party’s beliefs included anti-semitism and German nationalism. Hitler blamed Jews and communists for Germany’s problems.

Kellogg-Briand Pact signed
The Kellogg-Briand was signed in order to outlaw war. The was meant to prevent another World War, but failed to prevent the growth of militarism and WWII.

Japan invades Manchuria
Japan attempted to gain control of all of east Asia. This attempt was intended for Japan to compete with the other world powers. Japan’s invasion of Manchuria also proved to be one of the causes of WWII.

Enabling Act of 1933 issued
The official title for the Enabling Act was the "Law to Remedy the Distress of People and Reich". The Enabling Act allowed legislation to pass with out having to first go through the Reichstag.

Neutrality Act of 1935 signed
After hearing about conflict brewing in Europe in Asia, Congress decided to pass the Neutrality Act. The Neutrality Act prevented America from trading weapons, sending troops, or anything else that would seem like they are going to war.

Philip Randolph's march and Roosevelt's response
Philip Randolp's march intended for African-Americans to not be discriminated against in the workforce. In response the Executive Order 8802 was signed, stating that there will be no discrimination against workers due to race.

Selective Service Act passes
This act required all males between the ages of 26 and 35 to register for the military draft. Roosevelt believed that their country should train troops even though they have not partaken in the war for safety measures.

FDR wins his third term
FDR was announced for his third term at the Democratic Convention in Chicago. Many people were against heis third term because of the unwritten rule of a two term presidency. FDR's response was that it was his duty to stay presudent throughout the rest of WWII.

Lend-Lease Act passed
This was passed so that America could provide supplies to places like Britain without crossing the Neutrality Act. It was a way for America to fight against the Nazi force without actually getting involved in combat.

Attack on Pearl Harbor
Attack done by the Japanese by bombing their base which destroyed the U.S.S Arizona and the U.S.S. Oklahoma. Before the attack America was staying neutral by just providing supplies but after the attack America decided to join the war.

Hitler declares war against the United States
Brought America into the European conflict even though they were neutral before. Hitler hoped that after America was defeated that Japan would help Germany fight Russia.
