The english wanted to expand west but the french had territory i the west. The british promised native americans for help and promised them land if they won the war.THe british and the french fought for seven years and the war ended in the english winning and taking land from the french. Since the british won they gave to indians land, which was the land over the appalachian mountains. -

Prime minister George Grenville enforced the sugar act.England decided to take sugar and molasses to make more profit off the colonists.The law made the colonist mad and they did not pay the tax. -

Prime minister George Grenville enforced the stamp act. The stamp act required a stamp on all documents and the colonists had to pay a direct tax the British. The colonists began to rebel and a colonial group called the sons of liberty began to harass British stamp agents. The colonist and the british met in NY and discussed the stamp act. The colonist thought that they shouldn't be taxed because the had no government to help them.Both parties came to the conclusion to repeal the stamp act. -
