  • The Franco-Prussian War

    The Franco-Prussian War
    (Ended May 10th, 1971) A coalition of german states defeated France. This was the end of France's power in Europe which resulted in Germany unifying as a nation.
  • 1910-1913 Germany's Military

    1910-1913 Germany's Military
    Under Kaiser Wilhelm, Germany are a rising military power. Tension rises around Europe as their military power and aggresion rises.
  • Germany declares war on Russia.

    Germany declares war on Russia.
    Germany started to fincance the war, they gained bonds so hat they could gain land. They declared war on France on August 3rd and invaded Belgium as well.
  • End of the War

    End of the War
    Germany signed an armistice. This gave the official end date of the war. This happened in result of the powerful political party allowing a more democratic goverment to take over. They agreed to surrender.
  • Treaty of Versailles signed by Germany

    The treaty of versailles overall gave Germany the war debt and much more. It sated:
    -Germany's army was reduced to 100 000 men as well as no tanks
    -Their navy was reduced and were not allowed to builed submarines
    -No German air-force allowed
    -Alsace-Lorraine was to be returned to France
    -They lost all of their colonies
    -Rhineland was to be demilitarized
    -A union with Austria was forbidde. They had to reckognize new countires of Poland & Czechoslavakia and the war debt was placed on Germany.

    This caused a great depression which ended up with millions of Germans unemployed. Economic growth stopped by the Great Depression. This gave fascist justification to control of the economy. Programs helped rebuilding the economy and helped with national pride along with unemployment.

    (he date was the day hitler was elected) The party disregarded the treaty of versailles. The nazi party decided to leave the league of nations.
  • The Munich Conference

    The Munich Conference
    The Munich conference was when Germany gained Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia after Hitler agreed wih the prime minister of Britain on this. They appeased the Germans because they did not want to have a war start. (It did start) Czechoslovakia did not attend the conference.
