    Japan invades Manchuria, north of China, in 1931. Manchuria was wealthy in resources in manufacturing and in textiles. For this reason, Japan invaded Manchuria.
  • Italy invades Ethiopia

    Italy invades Ethiopia
    Ethiopia was invaded by Italy in 1935 by Il Duce. Ethiopia was protected by the League of Nations from being invaded. even though Italy invaded, the League of nations did not do a thing about it.

    This is a deal between Germany and Italy. A month after this agreement was made, Germany made an agreement with Japan, eventually creating the Axis powers

    Hitler declared that Germany needed some more "breathing room", so in march of 1938 Germany annexed Austria. Hitler's reasoning behind this is that he was born in Austria.
  • The Munich Agreement

    The Munich Agreement
    Hitler from Germany, Chamberlain from Great Britain, Mussolini from Italy, and Daladier from France all meet in Munich. Hitler promised that Sudetenland was his last territorial gain. In return he promised to respect the Czech borders. Six months later, Hitler's troops stormed Czechoslovakia.

    In August of 1939, Hitler and Stalin promised to not attack each other. Hitler didn't want a two-front war, and Stalin needed to build his military.
  • The invasion of Poland

    The invasion of Poland
    On September 1, 1939, Hitler sent his forces to invade Poland, Braking the Munich agreement. He used a technique called blitzkrieg, or "lightning war" to overcome Poland. By the end of September, Poland was officially conquered by Germany.
