  • The Invasion of Poland

    Germany invaded poland. Hitler commanded germany to invade poland, and this ended on 6th october 1939. Hitler had successfully invaded Poland when it ended, making poland one of the countries under Germany's control.
  • The Battle of Britain

    Germany tried to invade Britan also. This was a special war, as there is a sea that parts the rest of europe with Britain, so the whole war was fought using air forces. Whenever there was a bombing, people had to hide underground and just hope that their house was not bombed. If their house was bombed, then they would have to find a new place to live or they would be homeless.
  • The Battle of Tobruk (North Africa)

    This was a battle that was located in north africa, and a bit of Britan and Austrailia was also involved inside this war.
  • Germany invades the USSR (Operation Barbarossa)

    During this event, Germany tried to invade the Solvet Union, because Hitler wanted to rule the USSR also. Germany was sure that they were going to succeed, but they did not. In the end, the Solvet Union won the war.
  • The Battle of El Alamein (North Africa)

    There were two battles of El Alamein, one that started on the 1st of July, and one that started on the 23rd of October. This battle was fought on the coasts of Egypt.
  • The battle of Stalingrad (USSR/Russia)

    This was a major battle fought during the WW2. This happened when Germany tried to invade the Solvet Union, in control for the city Stalingrad in the south western Solvet Union. This was one of the most bloodiest battles in the history of WW2.
  • The D-Day Landings (Operation Neptune)

    Four sites were considered for the landings: Brittany, the Cotentin Peninsula, Normandy, and Pas de Calais. Some troops were landing by boat, and some landed by air forces.
  • The meeting of allied troops at Torgau, Germany

    This was also called the 'Elbe Day'. This step was an important step to end WW2, as the forces of different armiess cut the forces of germany.
  • The German surrender (May 7 Reims, France; May 8 Berlin)

    This was a major event during world war 2. When the Germans surrendered, they ended WW2. This day is known as 'Victory in Europe day'
